- The
mission of ThanksTroops.com is to acknowledge, in a variety of ways,
all those who have served and presently serve in the armed forces.
- Because ThanksTroops is based in Colorado Springs, there is an added
opportunity for live, in person events, such as this Golf Tournament.
- The specific intent of the Golf Tournament is to raise funds for the
purchase and provision of modified sporting equipment (ie golf cards,
jet skis, etc) and modified sporting opportunities for soldiers who
have been injured during combat/service and return home with limited
ability to pursue activities they enjoy.
- Based on that and the overwhelming popularity of this tournament, priority will ultimately be given to players who have
experienced combat. This is not intended to exclude or diminish the
impact of any soldier’s service, it merely reflects and honors the
experience of the specific soldiers for whom this specific event is
being held.
